This Post is meant for the Tamil Speaking community.
Usually all Tamil Language sites are now becoming Unicode supportive meaning you don’t need to do anything like installing fonts or something to view those Tamil websites. This also helps the websites to reach more users whom may be browsing the sites from Browsing Centers or Cafe’s where installing fonts may not be possible.
But, there are still few sites which has the old TAM/TAB (Tamil Nadu Government Approved Character Sets) and TSCII. Which means, you have to install fonts and also have to change some settings in your Browser in order to view these pages. At the same time, it’s also difficult to keep switching the settings when you encounter websites between TAM/TAB and TSCII formats.
To solve these problems, there is an excellent Add on available to Firefox which will help you convert any TAM/TAB or TSCII encoded pages to Unicode on the fly.
This plug in is so easy that all you need to do is, just right click the Page you want to convert and choose the format of the Page from the sub menu அதியன். It converts the page on the fly and shows you an Unicode version of the Page which you can easily browse and understand.
